2008 Mr. Ed's Fishing Contest

For the past two years, one young fisherman has walked away with the high honors in our campground fishing contest.  A committee was formed to determine why this has happened.  The committee found that the rules were somewhat "loose", and that they had been written by the winner of the contest.  This year, the committee wrote the rules. (Upon consultation with last year's winner, one rule was added.)

"The Gill of Bites"

Mr. Ed's 2008 Fishing Contest Rules

1. This contest is open to all "residents" of Mr. Ed's Campground. Visitors and guests are not eligible.

2. One prize will be awarded to the "Best Fisherman" of the year. The value of the prize is minimal. (Bragging rights are what is really important.)

3. "Best Fisherman" will be determined by total length of all fish caught and documented. Documentation must be "in person", or by photography. Photographs of entered fish should include a ruler so that length can be verified.

3A. When registering or photographing a fish, the fisherman must kiss the fish. If this is not documented, the length of that fish will be subtracted from the total.

4. All fish must be of "game fish" species, which include Walleye, Northern Pike and Largemouth Bass. Pan fish (Bluegills, Perch, Rock Bass, Crappie, etc), Bullheads and Carp are not eligible.

5. All fish must be caught by legal methods, as determined by Wisconsin DNR rules.

6. All fish must be caught within the boundaries of Long Lake and Tittle Lake. The Northern boundary is the Watercress Creek inlet at Benson's Hideaway. The Southern boundary is the Dam. The river south of the dam and the Dundee Mill Ponds are not within the boundaries.

7. The contest starts with opening day of game fish season, May 3, 2008 and ends on October 5, 2008. Fish caught before or after that period are ineligible.

8. Judges for the contest are Al and Diane Michels, in lot #302.

9. All rulings by the judges are final and may not be appealed to any higher power (because there is no higher power).

10. The winner will be announced and the prize presented at the 2008 Annual Chili Dump (date to be determined).
